Passenger cars with internal combustion engines (ICE) will be gradually phased out in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

This is reflected in the document "Azerbaijan's Long-Term Low-Carbon Development Strategy."

According to the document, measures envisaged by 2035 include planning the initial phase-out of the ICE vehicle fleet, increasing the share of electric vehicles in the passenger car fleet, and supporting the adoption of electric vehicles through incentive programs.

By 2060, it is planned to increase the share of electric and other alternative energy-powered vehicles in the passenger car fleet to 100%, promote the adoption of electric vehicles through various incentive programs, and further phase out ICE vehicles gradually.
