The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has stated that Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance improved in 2026, APA-Economics reports.
This was noted in the Fund's October report.
According to the report, the dynamics of foreign trade balances in the Caucasus and Central Asia region varied across countries.
Thus, while the trade balance weakened in several oil-importing countries of the region, this indicator improved in oil-exporting Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
The IMF notes that the weakening of the trade balance in Armenia and Uzbekistan was mainly due to a decline in export revenues, while in Tajikistan it was related to an increase in import costs.
