Azerbaijan plans to expand the accessibility of data generated in state information systems for the private sector, Shahin Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, said at the conference titled "Digital Financial Ecosystem: A New Stage in Governance" held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the integration of state information systems should cover not only data exchange between state institutions but also enable private companies to benefit from these opportunities in the future.
Sh. Aliyev noted that data exchange between state institutions is currently carried out through the Electronic Government Information System.
"At the next stage, we are considering providing similar integration opportunities for the private sector as well. Technology companies operating in the market are developing artificial intelligence-based solutions and working to automate the internal processes of enterprises," he said.
The agency official emphasized that work is also underway to establish a national data space in Azerbaijan.
According to him, this initiative will ensure the secure exchange of data generated by various state institutions, accelerate data-driven decision-making, and increase the efficiency of public services.
Sh. Aliyev added that the main areas of digital development are the digitalization of public services, the application of artificial intelligence, the strengthening of the innovation ecosystem, and ensuring cybersecurity.
