The document "Azerbaijan's Long-Term Low-Carbon Development Strategy" has been approved, APA reports.
Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decision in this regard.
According to the decision, in order to achieve the "net-zero emissions" target set out in the Strategy, the Ministry of Economy must ensure the integration of decarbonization measures across sectors of the national economy into relevant state programs and strategies, national action plans, and other documents, in coordination with the relevant institutions.
The Ministry of Finance has been instructed to ensure the financing of relevant decarbonization measures, taking into account Part 3 of this decision.
It should be taken into account that achieving the "net-zero emissions" target (conditional target) by 2060, as envisaged in the Strategy approved by the decision, will depend on attracting additional financial resources (international cooperation and financial support, technology transfer, concessional loans, and private sector investments).
