Digital skills and access to digital services have improved significantly in Azerbaijan over the past five years, said Steffi Stallmeister, World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan, Europe and Central Asia, during a panel discussion at the “StrategEast: Eurasian Forum on Government and IT” held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
“However, there is still a digital gender gap,” Stallmeister emphasized.
She noted that there is a 7 percentage point difference between women and men using the Internet in Azerbaijan: “In terms of digital literacy, this difference is 5 percentage points. This is an issue that not only Azerbaijan, but many countries around the world are facing, and it is important to solve it.”
