The next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation will be held in Baku today, said Amin Tarfaa, Head of the International Relations Center of Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, APA reports.
According to him, the main topics of discussion at the meeting include the development of cooperation in the transport sector, the completion of border infrastructure, and the expansion of mutual cultural ties.
“Border infrastructure between Iran and Azerbaijan is being developed and improved in both the railway and road transport sectors. This process can play an important role in facilitating trade exchanges,” Amin Tarfaa added.
It was reported that the parties will discuss all areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as exchange views on plans and opportunities to be implemented and developed between the two countries by next year.
It was noted that a memorandum of understanding reflecting the agreements reached will be signed at the end of the meeting.
