As of January 1, 2026, the number of bank customers in Azerbaijan increased by 1.5% or 237.3 thousand people year-on-year to 16 million 236.9 thousand people, APA-Economics reports, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
As of the reporting date, the number of bank customer accounts increased by 16.7% or 7.9 million year-on-year to 55 million 178.9 thousand.
Note that during this period, 78.3% of customer accounts were current accounts (43 million 191.5 thousand), 20.4% were credit accounts (11 million 260.2 thousand), and 1.3% were deposit accounts (727.2 thousand).
