New requirements will be set in the legislation regarding “card-to-card” payment transactions, said President of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA) Zakir Nuriyev during his speech at the 9th Banking Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He said that against the background of new requirements, the development trend of digital payments made with payment cards should be maintained.
According to him, in order for the current development trend to be sustainable, it is necessary to involve cash settlements in the economy in a wider non-cash circulation.
Zakir Nuriyev said that in recent days, the creation of the possibility of making digital payments in public transport with the introduction of payment cards and tokenization services is an important progress in the sector, and this step will significantly contribute to increasing the share of digital payments.
