In the last seven years, five social reform packages have been implemented in Azerbaijan, covering 4 million citizens, with a financial capacity of an additional AZN 7.6 billion annually, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev said during the discussion of “2026 State Budget Envelope of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, at the joint meeting of at the meeting of the Committees on Labor and Social Policy and Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.
The minister noted that, within the framework of the 5th social reform package this year, the minimum wage was increased by 16% from January 1 to 400 AZN, and the minimum pension was increased by 14% from February 1 to 320 AZN:
“In addition, from July 1, the amounts of social benefits, presidential pensions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and pensions for honorary titles were increased, and from September 1, student scholarships were also raised.”
