As of February 28 this year, the current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Azerbaijan reached €898 million, APA-Economics reports, citing the EBRD.
This represents an increase of 0.3%, or €3 million, over the past month.
According to the information, the number of active projects currently stands at 36.
It was noted that 90% of the portfolio (€806 million) consists of investments in sustainable infrastructure, 7% (€62 million) in industry, commerce and agribusiness, and 3% (€30 million) in financial institutions. The volume of the Bank’s operational assets in the country decreased by 3.2% to €705 million. Meanwhile, the value of the EBRD’s operational assets in the country increased by 1.3% to €695 million.
Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested €3.629 billion in Azerbaijan across 202 projects, of which 93% (€3.375 billion) has already been utilized by borrowers. The private sector accounts for 40% of the portfolio.
Recall that in 2025, the EBRD allocated €81 million to 10 projects in Azerbaijan.
