Azerbaijan will continue its joint efforts with the ADB to strengthen entrepreneurs and enhance economic resilience, said Deputy Minister of Finance Anar Karimov at the presentation of the “Asia Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Monitor 2025” report held in Baku with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), APA-Economics reports.

He said that the partnership between Azerbaijan and the ADB is based on long-term, reliable, and mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Azerbaijani economy is in a transition phase toward a sustainable, innovation-based, and competitive development model. In this process, modernization of public finance, digitalization, results-oriented budget policy, and support for entrepreneurship have been identified as priority areas.

According to him, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises are among the main drivers in terms of economic diversification, and in this regard, Small and Medium Business Development Agency plays an important role. The Government of Azerbaijan is taking steps to expand market access opportunities for women and young entrepreneurs, accelerate digital transformation and the transition to a “green” economy.

At the end of his speech, Anar Karimov noted that Azerbaijan, together with the ADB, will continue its efforts to strengthen entrepreneurs, improve fiscal systems, and enhance economic resilience.

“Azerbaijan will continue to promote, together with the ADB, policies that empower entrepreneurs, strengthen fiscal systems, and increase economic resilience,” the Deputy Minister added.
