Trends toward de-dollarisation have increased in Azerbaijan’s economy, said Taleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Central Bank, during today’s session of the Milli Majlis while discussing the 2026 budget package, APA reports.
The CBA chairman noted that, as a result of reforms carried out by the Central Bank since 2022, the transmission mechanism of monetary policy has been strengthened, and trends toward de-dollarization in the economy have increased: “The level of dollarization in the deposits of resident individuals decreased by 2.1 percentage points since the beginning of the year, reaching 28.5% as of October, which is a historic minimum. This dynamic confirms both positive expectations regarding the manat and growing confidence in our national currency.”
