“More than 8 billion manats have been allocated from the 2026 state budget for defense and security expenditures," said Arzu Naghiyev, Chairman of the Defence, Security and Anti-Corruption Committee, at a joint meeting of the Committees for Law Policy and State-Building, Defence, Security and Anti-Corruption, Human Rights, and Regional Issues in the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.

He noted that these expenditures account for 21% of the budget. At the same time, these expenditures are more than 318 million manats higher compared to the current year.

“The expenditures allocated from the budget in this direction will strengthen Azerbaijan’s internal stability, defense capability, and regional security policy. The processes we observe today in the region and in the world show that the concept of security is no longer limited only to the military field. It also relies on information warfare, cyber threats, border protection, maintaining public stability, and the ability to respond promptly to emergencies.

The restoration and resettlement process in the liberated territories has gained significant momentum. Additional resources are needed in these areas for demining, the establishment of law enforcement infrastructure, and the safe return of people. This is not only a matter of security but also a matter of the state’s social responsibility.”
