According to the Central Bank’s updated macroeconomic forecasts, the current account balance is expected to remain in surplus at the end of 2026 and 2027, APA-Economics reports, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that external sector indicators, which play a decisive role in the formation of equilibrium in the foreign exchange market, remain favorable.
Based on customs statistics, Azerbaijan recorded a positive trade balance of $0.7 billion in 2025.
According to preliminary estimates, the positive balance in foreign trade, excluding gold imports, exceeded 6.9 billion US dollars.
