In January 2026, the volume of transactions carried out by banks in Azerbaijan for the purchase and sale of cash US dollars amounted to 260 million 423 thousand, APA-Economics reports, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, this indicator decreased by 36.5% or 149.9 million US dollars compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
During the reporting period, banks’ purchase of cash US dollars increased by 7.5% compared to January 2025, reaching 124.9 million, while sales decreased 2.2 times to 135.6 million.
During this period, banks’ purchase of cash euros decreased by 2.7% compared to January of last year, amounting to 9.5 million, while sales decreased 2.1 times to 8.1 million.
