Measures to ensure defense capability and security have been fully taken into account within the budget package, and social programs aimed at improving the welfare of every Azerbaijani citizen have been fully funded, Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev said during discussions on the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026” at the meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship, APA reports.
The minister noted that all measures for the reconstruction of liberated territories and the resettlement of citizens are included in the budget: “Measures to further improve infrastructure are also provided for in the budget package. One of our main goals — reducing dependence on oil revenues — has been ensured in our budget. In accordance with the President’s instructions, an appropriate framework has been established to optimize budget expenditures and prevent excessive spending,” he said.
