In the medium term, the current account balance is projected to remain in surplus, APA reports.
This is reflected in the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026,” discussed today at the meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship.
The draft projects a current account surplus of $1.9 billion for next year, $1.55 billion in 2027, $1.23 billion in 2028, and $1.84 billion in 2029.
It is noted that the ratio of the current account balance to GDP is expected to be 2.4% next year and to average 1.7% annually between 2027 and 2029.
