In 10 months of the current year, the loan portfolio of the banking sector increased by 7%, reaching 29.4 billion manats, said Chairman of the Central Bank Taleh Kazımov at today’s session of the Milli Majlis while discussing the 2026 budget package, APA reports.
The CBA Chairman stated that the share of non-performing loans in the total portfolio amounted to 2.7%: “This indicates that the quality of the loan portfolio is high. The share of business loans in the loan portfolio remained at 53%. This proves that the real sector has broad access to financial resources. The total liabilities of the banking sector increased by 6% in 10 months, reaching 49.2 billion manats, and deposits accounted for 73.3% of this amount. Household deposits amounted to 15.5 billion manats, which corresponds to an 8.7% increase. A 15% increase was observed in time deposits as well. Over the past 3 years, household time deposits have increased on average by 22% annually. This indicates both an improvement in the population’s social welfare level and a high degree of confidence in the banking system.”
