According to preliminary data for 2025, the average monthly nominal wage of employees in the country’s economy increased by 9.3% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,102.9 manats, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, the average monthly nominal wage was higher in the extractive industries, financial and insurance activities, information and communications, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as in the transport and warehousing sectors.
It was noted that as of January 1, 2026, the number of employees in the country’s economy, based on preliminary data, amounted to 1,808.0 thousand people, of whom 865.8 thousand were employed in the public sector, and 942.2 thousand in the non-state (private) sector.
Of those employed for wages, 18.6% worked in trade and repair of motor vehicles, 18.1% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.5% in human health and social work activities, 6.6% in construction, 6.2% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.4% in transport and warehousing, 3.9% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, while 15.1% were employed in other sectors of the economy.
