The GDP growth is entirely driven by the development of the non-oil and gas sector, said Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov today during the discussion of the 2026 state budget draft at the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

The minister noted that, taking into account the expected growth rate for 2025, the average annual GDP growth for 2022–2025 is projected at 3.3%, which falls within the range (3–4%) defined by the strategy: “The GDP growth is entirely ensured by the development of the non-oil and gas sector, with the average annual growth in this sector expected to reach 6.1%, which is 1.1 percentage points higher than the target (5%) set by the 2022–2026 socio-economic development strategy. Between 2019 and 2025, all areas of the non-oil and gas sector demonstrated growth. The leading sectors in terms of average annual growth were information and communication (11%), non-oil and gas industry (9.7%), and transportation and storage (7.8%). Relatively lower average annual growth rates were observed in construction (4.4%), tourism (4.1%), agriculture (3.2%), trade (3.0%), and social and other services (2.9%).”
