"Information exchange with Central Asian countries on cyber-fraud cases is being planned," said Akif Baghirov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, during his speech at the 9th International Banking Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He said that the centralized cybersecurity incident management system for the financial sector — FinCERT — has started operating. The functions of FinCERT include calculating the damage caused to financial institutions, creating a historical database of fraud incidents, and sharing this information on a unified platform.
A. Baghirov noted that the launch of FinCERT strengthens coordination on cybersecurity within the country and also creates new opportunities for regional cooperation. He emphasized that the Central Bank of Azerbaijan plans to establish information exchange on cyber-fraud cases with Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan, and that initial steps in this direction have already been taken.
