In January 2026, the average monthly nominal wage of salaried employees in the country amounted to 1,103.8 manats, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
This indicator increased by 3.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
As of February 1, 2026, the number of salaried employees in the country reached 1 million 782 thousand people, of whom 861.4 thousand worked in the public sector, while 920.6 thousand were employed in the non-state sector.
Among salaried employees, 18.6% were engaged in trade and repair of motor vehicles, 18.3% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.6% in health and social services, 6.5% in construction, 6.2% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.4% in transport and storage, 3.8% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, 2.3% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, while 15.1% were employed in other sectors of the economy.
