Masato Kanda, the newly appointed President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has made his first visit to Baku, APA-Economics reports, citing the Bank.
Kanda noted that Azerbaijan is strengthening its strategic role as a connector between Asia and Europe. The development of new transport corridors, the acceleration of renewable energy projects, and efforts toward economic diversification are creating new opportunities for growth, trade, and regional cooperation.
The ADB chief emphasized that his visit to Baku comes at an important time. In the coming days, he is scheduled to meet with local government officials and partners to discuss ways the bank can support these initiatives.
Recall that Masato Kanda officially assumed office as the 11th President of the Asian Development Bank on February 24 this year.
Prior to visiting Azerbaijan, Kanda visited Türkiye, where he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
