Azerbaijan State Customs Committee issues statement on criminal case of customers accused in bribery and abuse of office

Press service of the Customs Committee told APA that a group of persons, including inspector of cargo department of the Baku Customs Head Office Museyib Azizov, Miralam ismailov, IT operator of the Baku office of the Customs Committee Azerterminalcomplex Foreign Economic Unit Ismail Ahmadov, Natig Guliyev and others, took illegal actions to replace the value add tax and to avoid the tax payment.

They took bribe many times and falsified the customs declarations about the import of refrigerator compressors via Agrolaesing company, cargo customs declarations about the import of ferrous materials and constructions, as well as other construction materials from so-called Russian-based Energomashstroy of the Electricguarshdirma enterprise, from Russian-based Torgoviy Dom TMK Company of the Samur-Absheron Water Construction enterprise.

Enough evidences were collected during the investigation and Ahmadov, Azizov, Guliyev, Ismailov and others faced with bribery and falsification of office duties under the articles 311.2, 311.3.1, 311.3.2 and 313 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was completed and the materials were sent to the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office for starting the judicial proceedings.
