The world has lost 2.6 billion barrels of oil since the start of the war between the United States and Iran, Reuters reports, citing Saudi Aramco.

This volume represents the largest oil supply disruption in history in terms of total volume, excluding the impact of the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

According to the report, the volume of lost oil is equivalent to approximately 25 days of global consumption. The calculation was based on global oil demand of 103 million barrels per day before the war.
