In January of this year, 16,125 thousand barrels of oil were transported via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline through Turkish territory, which is 8.23% less in an annual comparison, APA-Economics reports, citing Türkiye’s pipeline transport operator BOTAŞ.
In January 2025, 17,571 thousand barrels of oil were transported via the BTC pipeline through Türkiye.
Note that last year, 206,434 thousand barrels of oil were transported through Turkish territory via the BTC pipeline, representing a 7.9% year-on-year decrease.
Recall that the BTC pipeline transports oil produced from Azerbaijan’s Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli (ACG) fields. In addition, oil from other producers is also shipped through the pipeline to Türkiye.
