Azerbaijan will contribute to regional energy security in the future not only through oil and natural gas, but also through electricity, Türkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said during his speech at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that the Baku Energy Forum is an important platform for discussing energy security and energy crises, and that the high-level participation in the event once again demonstrates Azerbaijan’s role in the region’s energy security.
According to Alparslan Bayraktar, Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation is entering a new stage in the field of green energy, just as it did with projects such as TANAP and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
“Türkiye is a country that consumes approximately 60 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Azerbaijani gas has been one of our most important sources of supply for many years. In the future, it may be possible to transport larger volumes of gas produced here to Türkiye as well as to Europe,” the minister emphasized.
He added that the parties have signed the relevant agreements in this regard.
