The possibility of drilling additional wells at the Absheron gas-condensate field is being considered, said Emmanuel de Guillebon, Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Azerbaijan, during the session titled “Upstream Sector – New Horizons” at the Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the infrastructure to be established under the second phase of the field’s development will have the capacity to process approximately 12.7 million cubic meters of gas and 40,000 barrels of condensate per day.
Emmanuel de Guillebon said that the company is exploring additional production opportunities in order to ensure the full utilization of the pipeline and processing facilities.
“Absheron is a very large field. Together with SOCAR and XRG, we are working on new opportunities. We see additional potential in the eastern part of the field,” he noted.
According to him, seismic studies conducted in recent years have made it possible to better understand the field.
“We hope that additional wells will be drilled in the future to ensure the full utilization of the pipeline and processing facility. We are currently working on assessing these opportunities,” the company official added.
