SOCAR is searching for new oil and gas reserves in deep and shallow layers of the Caspian Sea that have not been sufficiently explored to date, said Arzu Javadova, Vice President of SOCAR, during the “Upstream Sector – New Horizons” session at the Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.

According to her, the company is currently continuing exploration activities in a number of promising structures in the Middle Caspian and South Caspian basins.

Arzu Javadova stated that SOCAR is not limiting itself to traditional productive reservoirs.

“We are targeting not only traditional reservoirs, but also deeper horizons, as well as shallow layers that have not been adequately explored so far,” she noted.

According to the SOCAR official, several projects in the Middle Caspian have already reached more advanced stages of development.

She noted that the “Goshadash” structure is one of the projects closest to the drilling stage.

Arzu Javadova added that the company continues its efforts to expand exploration opportunities in the Caspian Sea and attract potential partners.
