A purposeful policy is being implemented to expand the geography of Azerbaijan’s gas supply, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the presentation of the “Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025,” APA reports.

“According to existing plans, we expect to obtain 6–8 gigawatts of electricity from alternative energy sources by 2032. In order to realize our significant potential in the field of renewable energy, effective cooperation has been established with companies from the world’s leading countries. The projects implemented within the framework of this cooperation serve to strengthen our country’s energy security, diversify energy sources, and ensure sustainable development.

At the same time, a consistent and purposeful policy is being implemented to expand the geography of gas supply and develop new export routes. In 2025, a total of 25.2 billion cubic meters of gas were exported via export pipelines. In addition to the European market, cooperation has been developed in new directions, and for the first time deliveries of Azerbaijani gas to Syria have begun. Last year, the number of countries purchasing Azerbaijani gas increased to 14. Currently, this number has reached 16, as gas supplies have begun to two more European countries – Germany and Austria,” the Prime Minister noted.
