Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, who is on a visit to Georgia, met with the Prime Minister of this country, Irakli Garibashvili, APA-Economics reports citing the ministry.
During the meeting, the sides stressed the high-level relations, political dialogue, and successful energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The joint implementation of global energy projects and regular contributions to Georgia's energy security was evaluated as indicators of strategic partnership relations. The parties also assessed the projects and new opportunities that will ensure the development of energy cooperation in a bilateral and multilateral format.
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili called Azerbaijan a reliable strategic partner and a country that plays a key role in Georgia's energy supply. He expressed his support for cooperation on energy projects that will serve stability and development in the region.
The Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, said that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev attached special importance to the comprehensive development of relations with Georgia and drew attention to the opportunities to deepen energy cooperation.
