The average price of natural gas in Europe stood at USD 25.42 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) in September this year, representing a 20.4% increase compared to the previous month's figure (USD 21.11), APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank's monthly commodity price report.
According to the report, the average price of natural gas in Europe amounted to USD 21.53 in the third quarter of this year, which is 90.7% higher than the figure recorded in the corresponding period last year (USD 11.29).
The Bank recalls that the average gas price in Europe stood at USD 11.96 in 2025, which was 9.1% higher than the figure recorded in 2023 (USD 10.96).
It should be noted that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
According to the report, the average price of natural gas in the United States stood at USD 2.95 per MMBtu in September this year, representing a 6.5% increase compared to the previous month's figure (USD 2.87).
It is reported that the average price of natural gas in the United States amounted to USD 2.87 in the third quarter of this year, which is 5.3% lower than the figure recorded in the corresponding period last year (USD 3.03).
The report also notes that the average gas price in the United States stood at USD 3.53 last year, representing a 61.2% increase compared to the previous year's figure (USD 2.19).
