US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have reportedly held intensive talks in recent weeks about a possible attack on Iran.
Israel’s Channel 13 television reported, citing unnamed security officials, that an attack before the elections scheduled for October 27 was unlikely.
According to the report, Netanyahu also opposes launching such an attack before the elections.
The Israeli military is reportedly preparing for several scenarios, including an independent strike on Iran, a joint operation with the United States and a response to possible Iranian attacks.
Israeli officials also believe the United States could resume strikes against Iran in the future, the report said.
The claims are based on Israeli media reports and statements by unnamed officials. Neither Washington nor Tel Aviv has confirmed that a final decision on a possible attack has been made.
