The infrastructure projects being implemented in Khankendi, Lachin and other areas show that the region has great prospects, Moldova’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexandr Esaulenco told APA.
The Moldovan ambassador highly appreciated the reconstruction work carried out in Karabakh and the revival of life in the region.
He said that the infrastructure projects being implemented in Khankendi, Lachin and other areas demonstrate the region’s great prospects: “The infrastructure projects we see here once again leave me greatly impressed. The rapid implementation of these projects shows that the Karabakh region as a whole, as well as Khankendi and Lachin, have great prospects. This is one of the most beautiful places in Azerbaijan, and it is always pleasant to visit these territories. The efforts made by the Azerbaijani leadership to ensure the return of people to these lands and the revival of life here demonstrate that the region has a great future.”
The ambassador also positively assessed the reconstruction of villages using modern technologies and renewable energy sources.
Alexandr Esaulenco said that the complex created in Khojaly in memory of the victims of the tragedy caused him deep sorrow. Emphasizing that the tragedy that occurred in February 1992 must not be forgotten, he noted the importance of ensuring that such events are never repeated:
“What we saw in Khojaly, including the complex created in memory of the victims of the tragedy, evokes mixed feelings in us. First of all, we feel sorrow and grief. We saw photographs of the children, adults and elderly people who were killed. They experienced a great tragedy in February 1992. Naturally, this causes a deep sense of sorrow. At the same time, it is encouraging to see life being revived in that area and houses being restored. We believe that this process will have a positive impact on the development of the Karabakh region and the region as a whole.
The Khojaly tragedy must not be forgotten. We must remember it so that such events are never repeated.”
The ambassador also expressed his wish that as many people as possible who had lived on their historical lands would return to their homes.
