Panama's authorities declared on Saturday a state of emergency following the powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake, which shook the country yesterday, APA reports.
"The National Government, by instructions from the President of the Republic, Jose Raul Mulino Quintero, tasked us with ensuring that all personnel remain active every minute in the affected areas of the country," Presidency Minister Juan Carlos Orillac announced at a press conference.
In addition, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio also said yesterday the US is "mobilizing resources and personnel to assist" Panama.
