The United States has disabled four commercial vessels and forced another 135 to change course during three months of its naval blockade of Iran, APA reports, citing the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to CENTCOM, a US military aircraft struck the Panama-flagged cargo vessel Ocean Molika with precision-guided weapons on October 10 after it attempted to breach the blockade in the Gulf of Oman. The strike disabled the vessel’s propulsion system.

The command said the ship had departed an Iranian port and failed to comply with warnings from US forces.

CENTCOM said the United States reinstated the blockade on vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports on July 14.

“During the blockade, we destroyed 10 tankers linked to the clandestine network of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC),” the command said.

CENTCOM urged mariners to heed warnings and maintain contact with the US Navy when navigating the Gulf of Oman and waters near the Strait of Hormuz.
