Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli met with Gerlind Heckmann, Head of the Sub-Department for Foreign Trade Promotion and Financing for Ukraine, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia at Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the Ministry of Economy told APA-Economics.
The sides emphasized that there is significant potential for expanding economic relations between the two countries. In this regard, the importance of effectively using existing opportunities to diversify relations, strengthen cooperation between the parties and implement new joint projects was noted.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on effective partnership in the energy sector, including steps to support cooperation in the fields of industry and technology, as well as the coordination of initiatives currently under discussion in these areas. They also discussed holding meetings of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council and the Germany-Azerbaijan High-Level Working Group on Trade and Investment, as well as other issues on the agenda.
