The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed a company commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and a member of the Nuhba special forces unit, Hamas's military wing, in two strikes in the Gaza Strip, the IDF press service reported.
"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed Mohammed Abu Shalouf, a company commander in the Islamic Jihad military wing, in an attack near Khan Yunis. He infiltrated into Israel on October 7, 2023. In a separate attack near Khan Yunis, Musa Atef Abu Dan, a member of Hamas's Nuhba special forces, was killed," the statement said.
The press service noted that the liquidated individuals "recently carried out attacks on IDF troops and acted with the aim of restoring the combat capability of terrorist organizations," thereby "systematically violating the ceasefire agreement."
The IDF noted that "steps were taken before the strikes to mitigate the impact on the civilian population."
