As a result of modernization of "Azerbaijan" Thermal Power Plant it will be possible to save several million cubic metres of gas, said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov at the conference Sustainable Development Goals for Green Transformation in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, this power plant, located in Mingachevir is the biggest Thermal Power Plant in Azerbaijan, however, it is one of the most inefficient plants.
“Within the framework of its modernization, it is aimed to save several million of natural gas. Implementation of this is planned in the next two years,” noted Deputy Minister.
He noted that saving natural gas means additional export opportunities and guarantees of domestic consumption opportunities.
