"Kazakhstan will start oil transportation through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline starting from January 1, 2023," said Alikhan Smailov, Kazakhstan's prime minister, at the briefing held after the plenary meeting of the parliament, APA reports.
He noted that a special program was developed for the diversification of the oil transportation of Kazakhstan. In accordance with the program, Kazakh oil will be delivered to Baku port from Aktau port and will be transported through BTC from here.
"Kazakh oil may be transported via Baku-Supsa-Batumi oil pipelines through Baku port. There is a railway line from Atyrau to Batumi and Uzbekistan. There is also direction to China, Currently, we are working on expanding and increasing the oil export potential in these directions. When it comes to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan direction, we have reached an agreement on 15 mln tons of oil transportation from January 1, 2023," said Prime Minister.
