We highly value our partnership with Azerbaijan and are interested in deepening these ties through new opportunities for sustainable, long-term development, said Munehiro Hosono, Executive Director and Senior Vice President for Europe and Middle East Projects at INPEX, while speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
“We look forward to continuing dialogue and cooperation and to building the next successful chapter of our partnership together,” Munehiro Hosono noted.
According to him, INPEX has been a partner in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil field since 2003 and holds an approximately 10% stake in the project. ACG is a proven and reliable asset with a long production history.
As the project moves into a more mature stage of development, the importance of managing investment risks and maintaining operational excellence continues to grow.
“INPEX has grown through its participation in the ACG project, and we believe this partnership will continue to make an important contribution to sustainable development.
This project is not only an important asset for our company but, most importantly, the foundation of the long-term trust established with SOCAR, the ACG partners and the Government of Azerbaijan,” Munehiro Hosono stressed.
He said that when looking to the future, the company sees Azerbaijan not only as a country with a long-established asset base but also as a country with significant future potential.
“We see broad opportunities here to leverage our strong experience in gas field development, offshore project implementation, carbon capture, utilization and storage, as well as other low-carbon solutions.”
Munehiro Hosono added that, in this regard, the company highly values the potential to expand its activities by participating in new projects, particularly those aimed at improving the efficiency of existing assets and implementing practical solutions that ensure long-term sustainability.
