In January this year, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) increased its transmission capacity by 12%, enabling the delivery of an additional 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe annually, said Cristina Lobillo Borrero, Director of the Energy Platform and International Relations Task Force at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, during her speech at the 12th Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting and the 4th Green Energy Advisory Council Meeting held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to her, since 2021, increased natural gas supplies via the Southern Gas Corridor have made a significant contribution to the European Union’s diversification of energy sources.

Cristina Lobillo Borrero noted that in January, the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) expanded its transmission capacity by 12%. As a result of this increase, an additional 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas will be transported annually to the European market.
