The European Union (EU) will discuss the impact of the Middle East energy crisis on the region's airports and aviation sectors this week, said European Commission spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen on Tuesday, Reuters reports.
Itkonen said the topics would be discussed at the EU's oil co-ordination group on Wednesday and at its gas co-ordination group on Thursday.
The U.S.-Israeli led war on Iran has led to a rise in oil and gas prices and the shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz has also clogged up supplies of fuel.
Itkonen said this week's meeting of those EU coordination groups would discuss a "toolbox" of measures to cushion the impact of the oil and gas price increases.
