"As a traditional oil and gas-producing country, Azerbaijan is taking serious measures in the field of green energy today, said Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, at the plenary session of Russian Energy Week," APA's correspondent in Moscow reports.
"We have already practically signed the relevant documents and started the partial construction of a 4700 MW/h wind and solar power plant in Azerbaijan at the expense of foreign investment. Azerbaijan has a huge potential for onshore solar-wind energy, which is 26 gigawatts of energy. In the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, we have the potential for a larger volume of solar and wind energy, which we intend to meet domestic needs and export to our partners and neighbors. We are working on such projects. This means that we are practically in the process of energy transformation,” the energy minister said.
