Egypt thanks Azerbaijan for gas supplies

Egypt has thanked Azerbaijan for gas supplies, Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi stated during the ministerial-level plenary session held within the framework of the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, natural gas continues to play an important role in the energy balance, and international cooperation in this field is of particular importance.

“I would especially like to thank SOCAR and Azerbaijan for their support in supplying gas to Egypt last summer. These supplies, carried out using existing infrastructure, helped provide gas to various sectors in Egypt,” the minister noted.

K. Badawi added that Egypt is expanding regional cooperation in the energy sector and is working on new electricity interconnectors to increase renewable energy exports to European markets.
