The equipment provided by Azerbaijan helped us get through the winter, Ukraine's Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal stated during the ministerial-level plenary session held within the framework of the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the Russia-Ukraine war has been ongoing for 1,600 days and Ukraine has gone through four wartime winters during this period.

The minister noted that last winter was the most difficult period, as Russia attacked almost all major energy facilities in Ukraine with missiles and drones.

D. Shmyhal stated that thanks to the efforts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the dedication of energy workers, and the support of international partners, the country managed to prevent the collapse of its energy system.

“Azerbaijan made a particularly important contribution to our resilience last winter, during the most difficult period. Our Azerbaijani friends provided generators, transformers, cable products, and other critical equipment. This support helped us get through the winter,” the minister emphasized.

He added that Azerbaijan has provided 11 energy support packages to Ukraine during the war.

“We are grateful to President Ilham Aliyev and Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov. We highly value this solidarity and sincerely thank them for it,” D. Shmyhal noted.
