The official launch (presentation) of the “Clean Hydrogen for Uzbekistan” project was held in Tashkent, APA-Economics reports, citing the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

“The initiative is aimed at forming the necessary ecosystem and regulatory framework for the implementation of clean hydrogen technologies,” the statement said.

The project is being implemented within the framework of a partnership between the Global Green Growth Institute and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and is financed by Korea’s Green New Deal Trust Fund (KGNDTF) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Korea.

Note that according to the “Nationally Determined Contributions” document adopted in October 2025, Uzbekistan has set an ambitious target to increase the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation to 54% by 2030. Within this process, the country has already begun implementing policy measures and pilot projects to explore the potential of hydrogen energy.
