Bulgaria is completing a project aimed at delivering Azerbaijani gas to Southeastern Europe, Bulgaria's Deputy Energy Minister Kiril Temelkov stated during a panel session held within the framework of the 31st Baku Energy Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, one of the key factors in ensuring energy security is strengthening interconnections between energy systems and diversifying sources.
K. Temelkov noted that Bulgaria is currently in the final stages of constructing the Vertical Gas Corridor.
“This project will create an important opportunity for delivering liquefied natural gas and gas from alternative sources throughout Southeastern Europe,” he said.
The deputy minister emphasized that the development of regional interconnectors contributes to strengthening energy security and enables new energy sources to gain access to the European market.
