Relevant work is being carried out to stabilize the natural decline in oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil fields block, bp's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye, Gio Cristofoli, told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the ACG block has been in operation for 30 years, and a four-dimensional seismic survey is being conducted there to study reservoir conditions.
“This is being carried out so that we can see the current state of the reservoirs and determine the movement directions of reserves and fluids within them. There is water, there is oil, there is gas, and we first need to understand in which directions they are moving,” Gio Cristofoli said.
He added that the seismic work program covers five years.
