“When the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was designed, passenger transportation was envisaged, and the railway was built accordingly," Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), told journalists, APA’s local bureau reports.
He noted that there are currently no plans for passenger transportation between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.
Recall that an event marking the reopening of the modernized Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, one of the region’s key freight transport routes, will be held today at the Akhalkalaki railway and logistics complex in Georgia.
